Free AI Readiness Assessment — Find Out What You Can Ship in 90 Days
For UK SMEs and mid-market teams sizing up their first real AI investment. Ten minutes of questions, five dimensions scored, a PDF report in your inbox within one working day. No sales call required.
The problem
Why most AI projects stall
Three failure modes, in order of frequency. One — the team picks the model before the task. Two — data readiness is assumed, then discovered. Three — the demo lands, the end-users don't, and adoption dies inside a quarter.
The framework
The five dimensions we score
Dimension 01
Data Readiness
Whether the data an AI would touch is available, labelled, and reachable. The typical failure: ten years of knowledge locked in PDFs and a shared drive nobody has indexed.
Dimension 02
Use-Case Clarity
Whether you have a named task, a user, and a success metric — or a board slide that says "we want to use AI". One is buildable. The other stalls at week three.
Dimension 03
Technical Capability
Engineering bandwidth, a person who has shipped an AI feature before, and infrastructure that won't fight you. The common gap: nobody has ever evaluated an LLM in production.
Dimension 04
Risk Tolerance
Your appetite for hallucination, latency drift, and UK GDPR exposure. Low tolerance is not disqualifying — it changes the architecture, not the ambition. Human-in-the-loop becomes default, not optional.
Dimension 05
Team Buy-in
Leadership alignment plus end-user willingness to trust the output. The classic gap: a CEO who's read the McKinsey report and a support team waiting to be replaced. Hardest dimension to fix retroactively.
Deliverables
What you get
PDF report
A score per dimension, one finding each, an overall readiness rating, and three next steps. Built for an exec audience — no eval jargon. In your inbox within one working day.
3 prioritised next steps
Concrete, sized, sequenced. Not "invest in data" — "label your top 200 support tickets for intent classification by month-end". Drawn from your lowest-scoring dimensions.
Comparison to median UK SME
Where you sit against the median across Canarlo's assessment dataset. Useful for prioritising spend, making the case to a board, and calibrating expectations against peers.
The assessment
The questionnaire
Twenty-odd questions across the five dimensions. Roughly ten minutes. No account, no credit card — answers stored under UK GDPR. PDF report by email within one working day.
After the assessment
Want to talk through the results?
Optional. Thirty minutes with the engineer who scored your responses — not an account manager. We walk the five scores, name the highest-priority gap in your context, and sketch a first step you could ship this quarter. Not a sales call. The link below books it.
Free. Takes ~10 minutes. PDF report in your inbox within 1 working day.
No account, no credit card, no follow-up sequence. The only ask is an email address we can send the report to. For teams already past readiness, the AI System Audit at eight thousand is the next step.
Frequently asked
Questions before you start
How long does it take?
About ten minutes. Twenty-odd questions grouped by dimension — multiple-choice and short-scale, not essay. No account, no credit card. The PDF report lands in your inbox within one working day. The questionnaire itself is the work — the report is the artefact.
What happens after I submit?
Responses land in our database. An engineer — not an account manager — scores the five dimensions and writes the PDF. It arrives by email within one working day. A booking link inside the email opens a thirty-minute review call if you want one. No call required. No follow-up sequence.
Is my data confidential?
Yes. Responses sit in Supabase behind row-level security — only Canarlo engineers can read them, and only to write your report. Not shared with third parties. Not used to train anything. Retained for ninety days after delivery, then anonymised into the benchmark dataset. UK GDPR throughout.
Do I have to buy something after?
No. The PDF is the output — a standalone artefact your team can act on. No upsell, no follow-up sequence. If you want to go further: book the thirty-minute review call, or look at the eight-thousand AI System Audit for teams already past readiness. Both optional. The assessment stands alone.
Can my whole team contribute to one assessment?
Yes — and recommended. One submission per team, ideally filled in together. The questions reflect the collective view, not one perspective. If engineering and ops disagree on technical capability, that is itself a finding — submit twice, one per function. Disagreement on a dimension is signal worth surfacing in the report.
